Effect of Money

“When there is money in your hand and not in your heart, it will not harm you even if it is a lot; and when it is in your heart, it will harm you even if there is none in your hands.”

Vanity of Life

VANITY OF LIFE.....
🌿One Sunday morning, a wealthy man sat in his balcony enjoying the sunshine and his coffee when a little ant caught his eye; going from one side to the other side of the balcony, carrying a big leaf several times more than its size.
🌿The man watched it for more than an hour. He saw that the ant faced many impediments during its journey, paused, took a diversion and then continued towards its destination.
🌿At one point the tiny creature came across a crack in the floor. It paused for a little while, analyzed and then laid the huge leaf over the crack, walked over the leaf, picked the leaf on the other side then continued its journey.
🌿The man was captivated by the cleverness of the ant, one of God’s tiniest creatures.
🌿The incident left the man in awe and forced him to contemplate over the miracle of Creation. It showed the greatness of the Creator.
🌿Before his very eyes was this tiny creature of ALLAH, lacking in size yet equipped with a brain to analyze, contemplate, reason, explore, discover and overcome.
🌿Along with all these capabilities, the man also noticed that this tiny creature shared some human shortcomings.
🌿The man saw about an hour later that the creature had reached its destination – a tiny hole in the floor which was entrance to its underground dwelling.
🌿At this point the ant’s shortcoming that it shared with man was revealed.
🌿How could the ant carry the large leaf it carefully managed to its destination into the tiny hole? It simply couldn’t!
🌿So the tiny creature, after all the painstaking and hard work and exercising great skills, overcoming all the difficulties along the way, just left behind the large leaf and went home empty-handed.
🌿The ant had not thought about the end before it began its challenging journey and in the end the large leaf was nothing more than a burden to it.
🌿The creature had no option, but to leave it behind, to reach its destination.
🌿The man learned a great lesson that day. Isn’t that the truth about our lives?
🌿We worry about our family,
🌿We worry about our job,
🌿We worry about how to earn more money,
🌿We worry about where we should live – 5 bedroom or 6 bedroom house.
🌿What kind of vehicle to buy – a Mercedes or Honda or BMW or a Porsche?
🌿What kind of dress to wear?
🌿All sorts of things, only to abandon all these things when we reach the entrance to our destination – {THE GRAVE} when we realize we cannot enter our destination with all these things.
🌿We don’t realize in our life’s journey that these are just burdens that we are carrying with utmost care and fear of losing them, only to find that at the end, they are useless and we can’t take them with us.
🌿The ONLY TREASURE that lasts FOREVER is; OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR CREATOR - ALLAH.
🌿So ask yourself, "AM I USING MY WHOLE LIFE TO SERVE HIM?
🌿May Allah guide us all and remove from our hearts the excessive love we have for this world.

Heavenly Food

In Ramadan we should deny our overindulged bodies their earthly gratification and instead provide heavenly food for our malnourished souls.

The body is earthly and its nourishment comes from the earth. The spirit, however, is celestial and its nourishment comes only from Heaven.

Poetry on Love of Allah

A few nights ago,
Hazrat Ji (Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad) DB recited this heart touching poetry about love of Allah Swt:
وَاللَّهِ مَا طَلَعَتْ شَمْسٌ وَلَا غَرُبَتْ إِلَّا وَ أَنْتَ فِىْ قَلْبِىْ وَ وَسْوَاسِـــيْ
By Allah the sun never rose or set
but You were my heart and in my thoughts.
And I never sat conversing with any people, But You were the subject of my conversation In the midst of my comrades.
And I never mentioned You in joy or sorrow, But love for You was mingled with my breath.
And I never resolved to drink water, when I was athirst, But I saw an image of You in the cup.
And were I able to come I would have visited You, Crawling on my face or walking on my head

Significance of 15th Sha'ban

According tho the reliable scholars of the Ahlus Sunnah, the fifteenth of Sha’ban, which is commonly referred to as “Laylatul Bara-ah” (refer: Tafsir Razi and Ruhul ma’ani, surah 44. Ayah:3) is indeed one of the significant nights in the Islamic calendar.

Ibnul Haj (rahimahullah) states:

“The salaf (pious predecessors) would sanctify this night and prepare themselves for it in advance”

(Al-Madkhal, vol.1 pg.299)

Imam ‘Ata ibn Yasar (rahimahullah) –the great Tabi’i of Madinah- said:

“After Laylatul-Qadr, there is no other night in the year that is more virtuous than the middle (15th) night of Sha’ban”

(Lataif al-Ma’arif, pg.264 & Sunan Sa’eed ibn Mansur; refer: Husnul Bayan, pg.11)

Some people, due to being ill-informed refute the auspiciousness of this occasion.

I have prepared a detailed article on this which I have posted on my blog (Al-Miftah.com) In this article you will find sufficient information on this issue insha Allah. See it here.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best,

Enemy of Knowledge

Act upon the Sunnah of Fasting in Sha'baan

Our Mother Hadhrat Ayesha RA mentions that the Prophet (SAW) would not fast more in any other month outside of Ramadhan, as much as he did in Sha'baan.
We also learn from narrations that our Beloved Prophet (SAW) would usually fast twice a week (Monday and Thursday).
He would also Fast for 3 days every Islamic month (13th, 14th, and 15th).
We have a great opportunity to combine all these Sunnahs and to gain immense reward.
We should make an intention to fast on these days, which corresponds with this Sunday 31st May, Monday 1st June and Tuesday 2nd June (in the UK).
Fasting on these days will serve as a preparation for Ramadhan. The fasts will also be a means of us acting upon the Sunnah of Fasting in Sha'baan, Fasting in the middle days and Fasting on Monday.
May Allah grant us the strength, abiility and tawfeeq.

Making use of our Youth

If Allah gives us 60 years to live then it comes to around 22,000 days (60x365). All these days Allah gives us to prepare for one day of interview with Allah. That is on the Day of Judgement. On that day, Allah will ask us some questions and He wants some correct answers. Allah is so merciful that He already told us what the questions will be through Quran and Ahadith. His mercy is so great that He even told us the answers to these questions. Now imagine, a student goes to write an exam. He opens his exam paper and finds the questions on one side. Then he finds that the answers to the questions are on the other side. Now after writting the exam, if this student still fails then what would we think of him? We would think that he is the dumbest person around. Well, tell you what, on the Day of Judgement, us people who knew the questions and answers will still fail! That is why, this is the time to wake up before we prove ourselves to be the dumbest of people.

Youth is the prime time of our lives. This is where people make important decisions like what to become in the future. Things you do in this time will most likely affect you throughout the rest of your life. That is why, it is important to bring Islam into your life during these days. Many people have the conception that when they get old then they will start practising Islam. Probably you and me also have this feeling. But look at it this way: If you want to become a famous hockey player then you would start playing right from the youth. As you grow up, you will become better and better. But if you think that you will start playing when you are an old man then the chances of becoming famous is virtually zero. That's the reality. When we become old, we won't have enough energy to even stand up and pray.

Because youth is the prime time of your life, that is why it is very precious to Allah. Allah has prepared a shade on the Day of Judgement for those people who used to worship Allah in their youth. On that Day, there will be no other shade except the shade from the throne of Allah. Imagine standing outside on a very hot day under the sun for hours after hours. You would definately want some shadow to rest under. But what about that Day when the sun will be much nearer to us and the heat will be much more extreme. Wouldn't you want some shade on that day? Of course you would!

You and I are all weak in terms of keeping our duties to Allah and Allah is aware of that. Allah wants that we keep trying to do our best. If a baby falls down while walking he tries to get up again and walk. He doesn't keep sitting down. Then a day comes when he does start to walk. Similarly, we should keep trying our best and not give up. A day will come when, Inshallah, we will be strong enough to obey Allah in every situation. Let us make a small promise to Allah right now that we will start doing the things for which we were sent to this life. Otherwise, we will be like that dumb guy who will fail the test on the Day of Judgement.

May Allah make it easy for us. Ameen.
